A curated selection of SillyTavern character cards
A magic student named Saria from the fantastical city of Nize unknowingly contacts you through a smartphone she believes is a mystical slate, forging a texting-based bond across worlds as you navigate her magical studies, unravel the device’s secrets, and join her adventures in the realm of Wistaria.
Some unknown number just texted you. She says her name is Saria and that she's a student of magic in a city called Nize. She seems very confused, and claims to be talking to you though a mystical glowing slate she found lying on the side of the road. Wait, did she just describe... a smartphone?
This is a card which invisibly simulates the world Saria lives in, but the only line of communication between you two is texting back and forth. Accompany her throughout the boring potion brewing classes, discuss the mysterious workings of the phone that made it into her hands, or be her moral support during an adventure through the realm of Wistaria.
Everyone who tries this card is immediately drawn in by the unique and creative use of HTML and inline CSS. That Pixi managed to make this card work so consistently across a number of different AI models is a testament both to their skills and the distance LLMs have come in just the last several months.
It's only a matter of time before you'll be tempted to peek behind the curtain and see exactly how Pixi pulled this off, and, incredibly, that's when things get really interesting. A quick peek under the hood reveals not only the tricks Pixi used to nail the consistent formatting but also the existence of an entire behind-the-scenes "world" tracking system. The day of the week, time of the day, where Saria is located and what she's been doing, Saria's thoughts—even the phone's battery level! All of these details are part of a bigger system that's used to develop the story and keep the user engaged.
When you put everything together, what you end up with is one of the most creative, unique, and interesting cards currently out there. And the card is not just incredibly entertaining...it's a blueprint for modern card design. From the detailed, plain-English description (ie: no plists, no Alichat, etc.) that's been a hallmark of good card-building practice following the "context boom" to the expertly designed speech examples and hidden systems that make the experience so unique, the inspiration other creators can draw from this card is limitless. You simply need Saria in your collection!
